The team
Building the team, step by step
There will be many ways to be part of Neos Center and Neos Village as the vision unfolds over the coming years. We are growing a team of people who live on the land, nearby around Montemor-o-Novo, or work remotely. Roles can be full-time or part-time, on site or remote.
Places to live on the land are limited and kept for people in the core daily operations. For anyone staying long term, a willingness to learn Portuguese is essential.

Business Admin
Local or remote
- Assisting with accounting and legal tasks.
- Advising on and working through local and national administrative processes.
- Supporting operations with administration and organisation.

Event & Business Manager
Local, ideally living on the land
- Managing the Center business, the property and guest and retreat operations.
- Developing a sound business model and putting it into practice with the team.
- Overseeing property development and maintenance.

Farm to Table Chef
Volunteer, local or living on the land
- Cooking for the team, guests and retreats, with help brought in when needed.
- Sourcing local organic produce and working with our market garden.

Maintenance
Volunteer, local or living on the land
- Caring for and improving the property, with some plumbing, electrical, building and handyman skills.
- Hiring and coordinating tradespeople for repairs and building work.
- Possibly gardens and farm work, or paid building and architectural work.

Hospitality & Events
Volunteer, local or living on the land
- Welcoming guests and working with event organisers.
- Housekeeping across the houses and kitchens, and coordinating the local cleaners and maintenance team.
- Helping with events and setting up the spaces.

Farm & Gardens
Volunteer, local or living on the land
- Working with our regeneration partners, Ekogaio and Floresta de Iroko.
- Looking after the market garden and the gardens around the Center.
- Feeding and caring for the animals.

Besides expertise, we look for people we love spending time and creating with. At this founding stage a coherent team matters, so alignment with our culture, the New Earth Ways, is essential.
Building Neos takes real work. We look for people who are experienced, heart-intelligent, emotionally mature and self-leading: people who stay calm under pressure, solve problems and think strategically.
